You can think of TikTok Notes as Instagram for your TikTok account – technology

You can download the experimental app in Canada and Australia.

An entirely new app that is solely for the purpose of sharing photographs with text updates is now being tested by TikTok. TikTok Notes is the name of this feature, and it is now available in both Canada and Australia.

“We are in the early stages of experimenting with a dedicated space for photo and text content with TikTok Notes,” the business noted in an update on X. There is a dedicated section for both photo and text content. It is our goal that the TikTok community will continue to use TikTok Notes in order to continue sharing their moments through the usage of photo entries. Whether it’s for the purpose of documenting trips, expressing creativity, or simply sharing snippets of one’s day, the TikTok Notes experience is meant for anyone who would like to share and engage through visual content.

It appears that the app will, similar to TikTok, offer two feeds: a “for you” timeline of recommended material and a “following” feed. This information is based on screenshots that were taken from the App Store. Posts appear to be fairly similar to what you would see browsing through Instagram (at least before TikTok-like video took over the app), which consists of single photographs or carousels of many shots with extensive descriptions.

Due to the fact that reverse engineers have discovered references in TikTok’s code, rumors of an app that is similar to Instagram have been circulating for the past month. In recent days, a number of TikTok users had also noticed notifications within the app that were related to the new service.

The fact that TikTok is attempting to compete with Instagram’s primary feature is an intriguing development currently. With the addition of a photo-focused app, users of TikTok now have a new platform to share content that is not video-based, which may allow them to connect with their existing following. Additionally, the company is confronted with the risk that its primary app could be blocked or drawn into a protracted legal battle in the United States; therefore, having an alternative app could assist the company in maintaining its user base in the country. (TikTok has not disclosed when it is possible that Notes may be accessible in America.)

Additionally, it comes at a time when a great number of Instagram users are dissatisfied with Meta regarding the reach of the posts they make in their feeds. On a regular basis, Instagram’s chief executive, Adam Mosseri, responds to upset creators on Threads who are wondering why their feed postings do not appear to reach as many followers as they formerly did. It is possible that those creators will have a viable option for publishing images if TikTok Notes becomes popular.
