There may be a need for more adhesion on the roof trim of the vehicle.

In 2024 alone, Tesla recalled more than two million vehicles; so, the recall of close to 10,000 additional automobiles should not be considered particularly notable at this point. But Tesla’s most recent recall is a little more stringent than its previous ones because technicians are required to inspect each vehicle in person rather than simply delivering an update over the air. According to Reuters, Tesla’s most recent recall will involve the physical inspection of 9,136 Model X SUVs. This is because there are fears that a trim on the roof may separate, which might enhance the likelihood of an accident occurring.

According to a statement made by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, “The cosmetic trim pieces for the front and center roof can be adhered to the vehicle without the prerequisite of primer.” As a consequence of this, either one or both of the trim pieces can become detached from the car. Tesla will do a test to see how well each vehicle’s roof trim is attached, and if necessary, they will reassemble the components.

Previous recalls have been issued for cars of the Model X, as well as the Model Y, Model 3, Model S, and its Cybertruck, at various points throughout this year. The problems that have been responsible for this range from the backup camera not functioning properly in reverse to the possibility that the hood could come off.
