Meta is providing thousands of dollars in bonuses to certain creators for posts on Threads – technology

The specifics of the invite-only scheme “may vary” depending on the individual.

In the event that some creators’ content on Threads goes viral, Meta is promising them thousands of dollars. The reimbursements are a part of a new bonus program that is only available to authors who use Meta’s most recent app because it is an invitation-only program.

There is some information regarding the bonus program that can be found on an Instagram support page. Meta has not yet made the program officially public. According to the information provided, creators have the opportunity to earn money “based on the performance of your Threads posts” or “the number of posts you create.” It would appear that the particulars of the benefits are tailored to the specific needs of each individual author. This is something that the company makes notice of: “Details of the bonus program may vary by participant.”

It appears that the program is only being implemented on a limited scale at the moment; the business describes it as being in the “testing” phase. However, it provides a glimpse into how Meta may intend to increase its attempts to utilize creators in order to increase interaction on the service. In the past, Meta has provided incentives for sharing Reels on Facebook and Instagram; however, this is the very first time that the firm has paid for postings on Threads. At the beginning of this month, Business Insider was the first to report on the Threads bonus scheme.

Thousands of dollars are already being provided to certain artists in exchange for postings that perform very well. There was at least one creator who was offered “up to $5,000” for posts or answers on Threads that received 10,000 views or more, as indicated by a screenshot that is currently making the rounds on the platform. Although this is not nearly as high as the $10,000 incentives that Reels makers could once receive on Instagram, it is still fairly generous when one considers the fact that publishing on Threads needs a lot less effort than filming and producing a great video.

Meta is not the only platform that is attempting to entice creators by offering the possibility of financial compensation. In addition, X provides creators with direct rewards based on the level of engagement they receive; however, this program is a revenue sharing structure for users who pay for premium subscriptions.

According to Mark Zuckerberg, who made the announcement last week, Threads has been steadily expanding since its inception a year ago and currently has more than 150 million monthly users. Despite the fact that it would most likely take several years to reach that milestone, the founder of Facebook has suggested that the app might one day become the next platform to accommodate one billion users for the corporation. Onboarding popular creators from Instagram would be a vital move to take in order to increase interaction on Threads, regardless of the circumstances. Additionally, the company recently formed a partnership with Taylor Swift’s team in order to promote the pop star’s most recent album by having her appear on the app. Meta has not disclosed the terms that were associated with that deal, if any were associated at all; however, the endeavor includes the creation of bespoke animations and other “Easter eggs” for Swift fans.
