A recent announcement made by the firm revealed that it had formed a partnership with OpenAI for Apple Intelligence.

It would appear that Apple is on the lookout for whatever assistance it can acquire in order to include generative artificial intelligence into its recently unveiled Apple Intelligence. According to a report published by the Wall Street Journal, which cites persons with knowledge of the negotiations, Apple has reportedly held discussions with Meta regarding the concept of utilizing the generative artificial intelligence model that the business has developed. According to reports, it also held conversations of a similar nature with the firms Anthropic and Perplexity. According to the Wall Street Journal, however, nothing has been formalized as of yet.

At the World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) earlier this month, Apple made the official announcement of its long-awaited cooperation with OpenAI. This partnership will bring ChatGPT to newer iPhones, iPads, and Macs with the next generation of operating systems for these devices. Additionally, during the speech, Craig Federighi, the senior vice president of software engineering at Apple, mentioned Google’s Gemini as a potential addition to Apple Intelligence in the near future. The statement made by Federighi was as follows: “We want to enable users to ultimately choose the models that they want.” Consequently, it would be reasonable for Apple to be looking into other options.

However, until further notice, OpenAI is the only partner that has been officially confirmed. There are plans to incorporate OpenAI’s GPT-4o into Apple Intelligence in order to enhance Siri and other tools. It is anticipated that some of these features will be available later on in this year.
