Since the 15th of October, the update has been implemented.
Shorts on YouTube are going to get quite a deal longer in the near future. Beginning on October 15, the platform will begin expanding the maximum length of videos from one minute to three minutes every single day. TikTok, which is considered to be Shorts’ most significant rival, has let users to share videos that are ten minutes long for more than two years. The latest version should be compatible with any Shorts that have an aspect ratio of square or taller, and it will not have any impact on any videos that you shoot before the 15th of this month.
A few additional Shorts updates are also being released by YouTube, one of which is a preview of the comments that are included in the Shorts feed. Additionally, the business is working on a feature that will allow you to create remix clips and pull clips from wherever you are on YouTube using the Shorts camera. When YouTube originally introduced the remix option in the beginning of 2024, it allowed users to remove the music, use the video as a background, chop a portion of it to use in their Short, or put it next to their own production.
A tool that will show less short videos is going to be introduced by YouTube, which means that if you don’t like short videos, it will be easy for you to stop watching them. You can select this option by using the menu with three dots located in the upper right corner of the screen; however, YouTube states that the setting is only available for a limited time.
