Your catty replies will no longer be concealed by blocking.
It has not been a secret that Elon Musk does not like the block button. He has made this clear. X is currently in the process of modifying the process by which blocks operate on its platform; but, it is not yet able to fulfill Musk’s desire to completely eliminate the functionality.
When it comes to the visibility of replies within the context of a block, X is making adjustments. Prior to this change, a user could block another user on X while still being able to respond to their postings. Furthermore, the one who was blocked would not be able to access that reply, nor would they be aware that the individual who had blocked them was interacting with these posts. In order to ensure that users are able to view direct replies even if the person who posted them has blocked them, that feature is now being rolled back. The firm stated that the modification is “part of our ongoing commitment to aligning the block feature with our principles as a public town square” in a statement that was made by the engineering team of X.

If a user who has blocked you replies to one of your posts, you will now be able to see their reply. This change enables you to identify and report any potential bad content that you previously could not view, safeguarding both your…
The post also playfully suggested that there might be some additional surprises in store for blocks, which happens to be one of the most popular safety features on the service. “We’re all about giving users the power to control their experience, while still keeping posts visible to the public,” the company hilariously stated. It’s pretty funny how Musk keeps going on about how a “block” feature is just nonsense and how it’s going to be deleted, except for DMs. He’s really got a way with words!
Well, the changes to blocking aren’t exactly earth-shattering at the moment. Well, believe it or not, there are actually users out there who would be thrilled to have a front-row seat to all the things people are saying about them on the platform. Well, well, well. Looks like X is finally getting its act together and allowing us to see content that was once hidden. Who knows what other surprises are in store for us?
