Video ads lasting up to two minutes might be presented to them.
Beginning on March 5, users of GeForce Now who are taking advantage of the free service will be subjected to advertisements while they are waiting for their turn to play. Free users have received an email from NVIDIA in which they are informed that they will be subjected to “up to two minutes of video sponsorship messages before each gaming session while in queue.” A statement from the corporation stated that it will offer support for the free service. Additionally, NVIDIA is of the opinion that the advertisements will result in reduced wait times for free users. Stephanie Ngo, who serves as the spokesperson for the company, has confirmed the change to The Verge.
In the free tier of GeForce Now, users are able to enjoy one hour of gaming at no cost; but, once their hour-long gaming session is over, they are disconnected and have to wait in queue. Players who are extremely dedicated to their gaming and do not wish to pay for GeForce Now’s $10 Priority or $20 Ultimate membership tiers will be required to endure advertisements on many occasions. However, the advertisements only appear in the queue, and they do not appear in the middle of a user’s playtime. As a result, they are not as intrusive as the advertisements that are displayed on Netflix or Amazon Prime Videos.
NVIDIA has surpassed Alphabet to become the third most valuable corporation in the United States, and it is now the fourth most valuable firm in the world overall. As a result of the surge in artificial intelligence over the course of the past year, the company’s current market valuation is $1.83 trillion, and it holds an 80 percent share of the high-end semiconductor industry.
