Customers of Comcast TV, internet, and mobile can soon enroll in the StreamSaver plan.

As if it weren’t already abundantly evident that streaming is essentially just cable by another name at this point (albeit it is arguably less expensive for the time being), a number of the most popular services are coming together to form bundles. In the latter part of this month, it is anticipated that a bundle that combines Peacock, Netflix, and Apple TV+ would be released. In accordance with the statements made by CEO Brian Roberts, this StreamSaver bundle will be made accessible to Comcast customers.

Roberts did not disclose the total pricing of the bundle or the different tiers of each service that will be included in it; however, he did state that StreamSaver will provide these services “at a price that is significantly lower than anything that is currently available.” According to Variety, he stated to those who were present at the Media, Internet, and Communications Conference hosted by MoffettNathanson that the objective was to “add value to consumers” and to steal cash away from competing streaming services.

After it became public knowledge a few days ago that a package consisting of Disney+, Hulu, and Max will be released this summer, the StreamSaver announcement was made. A super-sized sports package that will include services from ESPN, Warner Bros. Discovery, and Fox is also scheduled to debut later this year. However, critics such as FuboTV have asserted that the offering is anti-competitive and will not be available until later this year. Not a single price has been disclosed for either of the two packages.
