A comparable function was introduced by Apple in late 2022.

The world may give the impression that we live in a completely connected world, but anyone who has ever been in a situation where they were unable to get a signal when they needed it can tell you that this is not the case. As a remedy to this issue, emergency satellite connectivity is a solution that will supposedly be offered by the Google Pixel 9 series and the next-generation Google Fold, as stated by Kamila Wojciechowska of Android Authority. According to reports, the service will initially be made accessible to T-Mobile subscribers. This is because the network provider has formed a relationship with SpaceX to develop satellite messaging applications. At some point in the future, it might be made accessible on several different networks.

It is rumored that the messaging service will provide questions to its users, such as “What best describes your situation?” In addition to “Are there weapons involved?” On the other hand, it is not known whether the functionality will be free for users of the Google Pixel 9 and the next-generation Google Fold. In its earlier pronouncements, T-Mobile has not provided any confirmation regarding the pricing of their satellite messaging service.

Google would be following in the footsteps of Apple, which debuted its own Emergency SOS satellite feature in late 2022 for iPhone 14 users in countries like as the United States of America, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, and the United Kingdom. If the rumor is genuine, Google would be following in Apple’s footsteps. Since then, the application has been upgraded to cover the iPhone 15 as well as nations like Australia and New Zealand, which have large expanses of wilderness where cellular service is not available.
