Recently, “Resident Evil 6” was included to Capcom’s list of Platinum Titles.
In spite of the fact that it has received nearly universally negative reviews from fans of the franchise, Resident Evil 6 has been surprisingly successful in terms of sales on the Nintendo Switch when it was ported to the platform in March of 2019. It was recently discovered by Nintendo Life that RE6 has been added to the Platinum Titles list maintained by Capcom. This indicates that the game has surpassed the threshold of one million units sold. With one million downloads for the Switch, it is ranked 117th on the list. However, it has not been downloaded on any other platforms till now.
When compared to the games that came before it, RE6 stands out as a complicated action game that represents a significant departure from the survival horror genre. Some of the characteristics that people really enjoy about Resident Evil games are missing from this game, despite the fact that it has a lot going on. I would concede, however, that it has garnered a few supporters over the course of its existence. The release of Resident Evil 6 on the Switch in October 2019 by Capcom, along with the release of Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, in the Resident Evil Triple Pack, which was also released around the same time, undoubtedly contributed to the game’s success in terms of sales.
