The Stand Pro iPhone dock from Belkin tracks you around a room using Apple’s DockKit – technology

The $175 accessory is the first to employ the new framework and was unveiled at CES 2024.

Belkin has introduced a brand new wireless charging dock that is capable of doing an impressive trick: it can also tilt and swivel in order to follow you around the room as you move about. According to the business, the Auto-Tracking Stand Pro accomplishes this by being the first gadget to utilize Apple’s DockKit framework. This framework enables the device to connect directly to an iPhone without the need for a third-party application.

The Stand Pro is equipped with motorization that allows it to rotate through a full 360 degrees around its base, while also allowing the MagSafe arm to tilt up to 90 degrees. It is compatible with any camera app, including FaceTime, Instagram, and Microsoft Teams, and it links with the base via Near Field Communication (NFC) once it has been attached to an iPhone 12 or a newer model. On the other hand, when you are participating in social media or participating in a conference call, it will automatically move the phone around to maintain you in the frame, similar to how DJI’s Osmo Pocket 3 works.

In addition to that, it is a charger that is capable of providing wireless rapid charging of up to 15 watts when it is hooked into the wall. Additionally, it can operate on battery power for approximately five hours. You can easily off tracking by pressing a button, which will prevent it from following you about like a crazy person when you simply want to charge your device. Additionally, an LED will indicate whether or not tracking is currently active.

As my colleague Richard Lai pointed out, the Stand Pro, which costs $175, is not the first motorized tracker that is currently available, and it is not even close to being the most affordable option. On the other hand, Belkin asserts that it is the first company to incorporate Apple’s DockKit developer SDK, which means that we might see products that are comparable in the future. The item is currently available for purchase on the Belkin’s website; however, there is currently no information regarding its availability.

At CES 2024, Belkin also introduced a variety of additional chargers to the market. One that is sure to be well-liked is the BoostCharge Pro 3-in-1 Magnetic Stand, which is currently available for purchase and costs $150. It has been improved with the most recent Qi2 charging standard. It is possible to charge your iPhone, Watch Series 7 or later, and wireless earphones all at the same time, just like it was possible with the previous version. Additionally, the company introduced the new Qi2-powered BoostCharge Pro Magnetic Power Bank, which has a starting price of $40 for the 2,500 mAh model.
