According to reports received by listeners on Sunday, both the website and the app had ceased functioning.
After a few hours of experiencing service difficulties, Spotify should again be functioning regularly at this point. “Everything is looking much better now!” was the message that was issued on the Spotify Status account on Sunday afternoon, January X. Additionally, earlier in the day, it revealed that it had been experiencing problems as a result of reports from users that the online player and the application were behaving in an abnormal manner. Users on social media platforms for Spotify have reported a variety of problems, ranging from tracks that constantly pause on them to users who have been completely locked off of the streaming network.

According to Downdetector, the troubles began to peak a little before 11 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) and continued for approximately two hours. “We are aware of some issues right now and are checking them out!” was the message that was placed on Spotify Status at 12:14 p.m. Eastern Time. During this time, the comments section of Downdetector expanded into a full-fledged group chat that was completely out of control. At approximately 1:15 p.m., I was still experiencing problems with the web player; however, it seems that all of these issues have been fixed now.
