The more compact and portable package comes with a Wi-Fi router that is already built in, and it can be carried in a backpack.

In order to provide customers with access to the satellite internet service provided by SpaceX, the business has begun providing certain users with a new Starlink kit that is compact enough to be carried in a backpack. This allows users to gain access to the service regardless of where they are. Users will be required to pay an initial fee of $599 for the Starlink Mini, as stated in the emails that SpaceX has distributed. This is an additional $100 in addition to the normal dish kit, and consumers will be required to have an existing standard service plan in order to add the Mini Roam service to their already existing plan. The additional charge for the Mini Roam service is $30 per month. According to TechCrunch, a residential client of Starlink will be required to pay a total of $150 per month regardless of whether or not they also purchase the Mini.

On the other hand, the smaller dish could not be as expensive in the long run. In its letter, SpaceX stated that it is currently only releasing a limited amount of Mini kits “in regions with high usage” for the time being. Additionally, the company stated that it is striving to make Starlink more inexpensive altogether. A few days ago, Elon Musk, the CEO of the company, discussed the Mini on X, which was once known as Twitter. He referred to it as a “great low-cost option.” In addition to this, he stated that the cost of purchasing and subscribing to the service will be “approximately half the price of the standard dish.”

I just set it up right now and am writing this post through space.

Took less than 5 mins. Easily carried in a backpack.

This product will change the world.

According to the message that was sent out by SpaceX, the Starlink Mini dish comes equipped with a Wi-Fi router that is built right in. This means that not only is it more compact than the conventional version, but it also requires fewer components in order to connect to the internet. It is also capable of download speeds that are greater than 100 Mbps, has a DC power input, and consumes less power than other similar devices. The package will include a kickstand, a pipe adaptor, a power supply, and a cord that has a USB-C connector on one end and a barrel jack on the other. In addition to the dish itself, the package will also include a power supply.

According to the notice that the firm sent out, it is now only being implemented in some regions that have a high level of usage. On the other hand, Michael Nicolls, the Vice President of Starlink Engineering, stated on X that the company is increasing the manufacturing of the Mini and that it will soon be offered in worldwide markets.
