Up to the 31st of December, individuals who already possess a Sony or PlayStation credit card can redeem their cards’ points.

In a recent announcement, Sony has stated that it will be discontinuing its rewards program at the conclusion of 2013. No, it is not PlayStation Stars, the loyalty program that incentivizes you to complete specific gameplay goals by rewarding you with digital treasures. In addition, it is not the PlayStation Rewards program, which has since been discontinued and provided PlayStation Network bonuses to the most devoted PlayStation gamers. It has decided to discontinue the Sony Rewards program, which was formerly available on Visa credit cards bearing the Sony and PlayStation brand names.

The frequently asked questions and terms and conditions pages have been amended to reflect the fact that the Sony Rewards website and mobile app will be discontinued on December 31, 2024, and that new members will no longer be accepted into the program beginning now. Between now and New Year’s Eve, pre-existing Sony and PlayStation cardholders will still be able to use the app to redeem points, access their account, submit bonus point requests, and purchase credit request forms. Additionally, they will be possible to access their accounts. After the 21st of July, however, they will no longer be able to deliver tangible bonus points or credit request points through the mail.

Additionally, users are unable to link their accounts to the Sony Store or Movies Anywhere, and they are no longer able to earn points through offers or partner offers. Beginning on February 14, 2025, the customer support department for Sony Rewards will no longer be available. As far as the Sony and PlayStation credit cards are concerned, cardholders will be contacted by Comenity Bank in due time about modifications to the credit card programs; nonetheless, they are permitted to continue using the cards until the 31st of December.

Beginning in 2017, Sony introduced a program called Sony Rewards, which enables users to accumulate sufficient points with their Sony or PlayStation credit card in order to redeem things that are exclusively from the Sony brand. In the beginning, it could appear to be a wonderful benefit to be able to redeem points for PlayStation games; nevertheless, the procedure of redemption is rigid, and the annual percentage rate (APR) for purchases is quite high at 27.99%. On the other hand, the annual percentage rate (APR) for the Xbox Mastercard, which was released by Microsoft the previous year, can range anywhere from 20.99% to 26.99% to 31.99%, depending on the sum you have. Not to mention, there is no cash back.
