Although the cost and availability of this technology in retail stores are unknown, it appears to be amazing.
of the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), there are typically a number of surprises, and Samsung presented a sneak peek of the world’s first transparent MicroLED display during its First Look event.
Samsung displayed not one, but three distinct transparent tiny LED screens, each with a slightly different design. There is currently no information regarding the price of this technology or when it will be available for purchase in retail products. Two of the demonstration units had tinted glass, which made it simpler to ignore any possible districting objects that were hidden behind the panels. Another of the display units appeared to be as clear as conventional glass while also boasting a frameless design.
It is difficult to adequately convey the appearance that Samsung’s transparent tiny OLED displays produce when viewed in person because the content appears to be floating in mid-air and almost resembles a hologram. Every single one of the demonstration units was freestanding and measured only around a centimeter in thickness, which contributed even further to the impression that the screen was floating. In addition, the great pixel density of the micro LEDs contributed to the appearance of images that were exceptionally brilliant. To this point, Samsung has just posted a single vertical video that is filled to the brim with EDM; however, we hope that this provides you with some insight into what we witnessed:
At the same time as transparent MicroLED displays have a higher brightness compared to transparent OLED panels, they are also less affected by the light that is present in the surrounding environment, as stated by a spokesperson from Samsung.
With Samsung’s current crop of non-transparent MicroLED TVs already costing $150,000 for a 110-inch model, it is going to be a pretty long time before these new displays become anything near to affordable. The bad news is that this is already the case.
