A number of new features for Shorts are now being rolled out by the platform.
YouTube is carrying on with its objective to compete with other social media platforms such as Instagram and TikTok. A “Add yours” sticker is one of the new features that the platform has revealed will be available on Shorts at this time. That’s correct, it appears to be a tool that is essentially the same as the one that Instagram introduced in 2021. You may have seen it with suggestions such as “the most recent photo in your camera roll” or “the first photo of you and your partner.”
In this particular scenario, YouTube suggests that you generate triggers such as demonstrating your dog’s most recent trick in order to “inspire your audience” and commence “a chain reaction of adorable content.” Considering that the sticker is almost identical to the one that is used on Instagram, the transfer should be simple if you use it on that platform. This sticker, which is brand new on YouTube, is expected to be distributed throughout Shorts over the coming few weeks.
Also, YouTube has stated that users will soon be able to add and change captions that are generated automatically on Shorts. You have the ability to select from a wide range of colors and fonts in order to make captions blend in more seamlessly with your movies. Again, you will know this from Instagram; however, let’s be honest: there is very little room for innovation on social media platforms these days, so it is wonderful to have options regardless of the platform that you choose to use.
Additionally, YouTube is in the process of implementing a Text to Speech tool on its Shorts platform. When you have finished recording a Short and then click the “Add voice” option located in the upper left corner of your screen, the tool will allow you to add text. From that point on, YouTube gives you the option of selecting one of four voices to voice the narration.
Android users will receive the final update that will be released for YouTube Shorts. Soon, Android users will be able to access the Auto layout feature, which will enable them to monitor the subject of their videos as they are being created. All of these updates will be communicated to you directly from the YouTube team, which can be found below.
