The discovered footage-inspired project is being worked on by the creator of The Mortuary Assistant.
We are excited to announce that one of the most popular horror film franchises of the past two decades will soon be available on a gaming system near you. Paranormal Activity: Found Footage is a video game that was developed by Paramount Game Studios in collaboration with DreadXP and DarkStone Digital, which is also known as the solo creator Brian Clarke. Several different platforms are expected to receive the horror game in the year 2026.
The narrative and the world that were developed in the seven-film series that began in 2007 will be expanded upon in the third installment of the Paranormal Activity franchise, which is titled Found Footage. It is going to be the first Paranormal Activity game that is not based on virtual reality.
The fact that the game will be played in the found-footage format of the movies is suggested by the game’s title. For the time being, there is a lack of information on the other aspects of Paranormal Activity: Found Footage; nevertheless, it is said that the game will include a sophisticated “haunt system” that will dynamically alter the level of intensity and the kind of scares that players will experience based on their respective actions. There have been a number of other games that have utilized a dynamic fear system, such as Don’t Scream, which was an early access release that gained some hype a few months ago. Therefore, it will be fascinating to see how DarkStone Digital utilizes that approach in this game.
Once upon a time, Clarke was the creator of the first-person horror game The Mortuary Assistant, which received positive reviews. Clarke, who is also a co-director of the publisher DreadXP, said on X that his most recent project is a game that is based on the genre of Paranormal Activity. “I am beyond excited to be doing this as I have loved this series from the very beginning and it heavily shaped my style of horror.”
