Time is of the essence.
Following a significant amount of delay, Honda is getting ready to introduce three vehicles that produce zero emissions and one hybrid. A fuel cell electric vehicle (FCEV) version of the Honda CR-V, the long-awaited Prologue electric vehicle, the Acura ZDX electric vehicle, and a hybrid variant of the ever-popular Honda Civic will all be released by the carmaker within the year 2024.
The electric Prologue SUV was initially hinted about by Honda in the latter half of 2022. At that time, it also released its modified H mark, which was exclusive to electric vehicles. There have been a few testers who have been able to get their hands on the vehicle since then; nevertheless, with the exception of a fact sheet that was published in September 2023, Honda has kept rather silent. This week, Honda officially announced that the Prologue will be available for purchase in the “coming months,” with the states of California, Texas, Florida, and other states with warm weather being at the top of the priority list. It would appear that Honda has learned the importance of a cautious release as a result of its difficult experience with the Clarity. There are rumors that the five-seater SUV will have a range of 300 miles and will begin at a price in the “upper $40,000s,” although Honda has not yet established an official price for the vehicle. It has been rumored that each item will come with free home charger installation as well as free charging credits to sweeten the offer further.
With the ZDX SUV, Acura, which is a subsidiary of Honda, is getting ready to introduce its first fully electric vehicle on the production line. In light of the fact that Acura is a premium brand, it should come as no surprise that the ZDX will begin at “in the range of $60,000.” It is possible for this one to travel up to 325 miles on a single charge; however, the range decreases by 36 miles as the ZDX’s trim level increases in price, most likely because of the substantial weight of all those additional equipment. Those that are interested in the ZDX, as opposed to the Prologue, have the ability to reserve their preferred trim and color by making a deposit of $1,000 that is refundable. At this point in time, it is anticipated that deliveries will start in the spring.
In contrast to its rivals, Honda is beginning to explore the fully electric vehicle (FCEV) market. A fuel cell system that was developed in collaboration with General Motors will be included in the upcoming hydrogen-powered version of Honda’s extremely successful CR-V pickup truck. The fuel cell CR-V does not have any photographs, concept images, or a release timeframe that we are aware of whatsoever. With that being said, we are aware that the car will be equipped with a plug-in charging function, which will enable drivers who do not reside in close proximity to a hydrogen station to charge the battery of the CR-V. In addition, it is anticipated that this model will be appealing to people who reside in colder climates. The freezing temperatures can render battery electric vehicles (EVs) inoperable, although fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) are said to be more resistant to the severe weather.
Last but not least, Honda is getting set to introduce a hybrid version of its much-loved Civic with the intention of catering to motorists who are not yet prepared to give up the conventional internal combustion engine. on addition, we are lacking on information regarding this 2025 model; however, we are aware that it will be offered in both a sedan and a hatchback configuration, and that the complete Civic lineup will get a slightly updated midcycle redesign.
