Twenty years after the flagship store in New York opens, the San Francisco location will open.
Over the course of twenty years, Nintendo has now reached the point where it is prepared to launch a second store in the United States. By the year 2025, the new location at Union Square, which is located in San Francisco, is scheduled to open its doors. For the time being, there is a lack of information regarding Nintendo San Francisco; however, the firm has stated that it will provide “visitors from near and far with the opportunity to experience the world of Nintendo, its products, and characters.” During the time leading up to the ceremony where the ribbon is cut, additional information will be disclosed.
This month marks the 19th anniversary of Nintendo’s opening of its New York store at Rockefeller Center. Prior to that, the same location was home to a Pokémon Center. In addition to a selection of items and kiosks where customers can try out some Switch titles, the New York store also features a miniature museum that showcases a variety of earlier consoles and an abundance of Amiibo.
It wasn’t until 2019 that the firm opened its first permanent store in Japan, and it currently has three locations in the country where it was founded. There is also a private outlet for Nintendo workers located inside the company’s headquarters in Redmond, Washington, in the United States.
