The Ultimate Fan tier now costs $16 while the Mega Fan tier costs $12.
In recent times, Crunchyroll has followed the trend of many other streaming services and increased the price of its subscriptions. The anime streaming service has stated that it will be increasing its prices for the first time since Funimation purchased it in the year 2020. In addition to the United States, subscribers in Argentina, Colombia, France, Portugal, and a few other countries will now be required to pay $12 for the Mega Fan tier, which is an increase of $2 from the previous price of $10. The Ultimate Fan tier, on the other hand, will now cost $1 more per month, bringing its total cost to $16.
Both of these choices provide users with access to offline watching as well as the Crunchyroll Game Vault, which is a collection of mobile games at their disposal. Streaming can be done on as many as four devices simultaneously with the Mega Fan tier, while the Ultimate Fan tier allows for streaming on as many as six devices simultaneously. If a person continues to pay for the service for a period of twelve consecutive months, they are eligible to receive a swag bag in addition to the most expensive subscription choice. Although the basic Fan Tier does not provide the benefits that these two do, the price of this tier has not changed and continues to be $8 per month. Those individuals who have not yet made a decision on whether or not to pay for a subscription are now only able to test out the service for a period of seven days, as opposed to the previous fourteen days. On the other hand, you can still watch more than one thousand hours of entertainment for free if you don’t mind watching advertisements while you watch your anime.
Back in the year 2020, Funimation, which is owned by Sony, paid WarnerMedia a total of $1.175 billion to acquire Crunchyroll. However, it took some time for Funimation to reach the point where they could successfully complete their metamorphosis into a unified anime subscription service under the name of the latter. In spite of the fact that Funimation had relocated its available titles to Crunchyroll’s service, the company did not shut down its previous app and website until April 2 of this year.
