The PCs were revealed by the business during the MWC conference this year.
The ThinkPad T-series and the ThinkBook line both received updates from Lenovo at this year’s Mobile World Congress (MWC) conference, where the company also introduced a number of new hybrids and business laptops. The firm refers to them as “AI PCs” due to the fact that each one of them comes equipped with a button that is specifically designated for Microsoft Copilot, which provides instant access to the digital assistant.
The ThinkPad T14 Gen 5, the ThinkPad T16 Gen 3, the ThinkPad X12 Detachable Gen 2, and the ThinkBook 14 2-in-1 Gen 4 are some of the models that have just been introduced. These PCs are equipped with the most recent Intel Core Ultra CPUs, which is something that has become standard for new Lenovo computers.
Powered by an Intel Core Ultra U processor, the ThinkPad X12 Detachable Gen 2 features a 3:2 display that is both sturdy and protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. Additionally, the device is extremely portable. For the purpose of multitasking, this hybrid tablet/laptop device can be configured with up to 32 gigabytes of random access memory (RAM). The tablet comes with a front-facing camera that is 5 megapixels and a rear-facing camera that is 8 megapixels. Additionally, the detachable illuminated folio keyboard features a TrackPad that has three buttons.
This new edition of the ThinkBook 14 2-in-1 includes an ultra-thin profile that measures 16.85 millimetres, which is somewhat thinner than the profile of the previous model. Moreover, it is not heavy, weighing slightly more than 3.5 pounds. The display measures 14 inches and has an aspect ratio of 16:10. Additionally, the keyboard features a bigger touchpad that has been made using Mylar, which gives the appearance of glass. Additionally, it comes with the brand new Magnetic Slim Pen, which allows for more sophisticated control of the touchscreen.
The ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 and T16 Gen 3 have been designed to be easily repaired by the user himself, in addition to featuring Core Ultra CPUs and an integration of Copilot that is nearly immediate. The iFixit team was present to provide guidance on the general design, which resulted in a large number of customer-replaceable components. This made it simple to replace a variety of components, including the DIMM, SSD, WWAN card, and battery, among further components. Taking this into consideration, iFixit has assigned these laptops a repairability score of 9.3 out of 10, indicating that they are highly repairable. That is vastly superior to the products offered by a great number of competing businesses.
Beginning in April, the ThinkPad T14 Gen 5 will be available for purchase in a variety of stock keeping units (SKUs), with prices beginning at $950. Additionally, the ThinkPad T16 Gen 3 will be available for purchase in April, with a starting price of $1,220. A starting price of $1,400 will be offered for the ThinkPad X12 Detachable Gen 2 when it eventually becomes available for purchase during the same month.
