WWE Speed will feature five-minute matches.
Recently, WWE has been making significant changes to its broadcast platforms, with the most recent development being the formation of a relationship with X, which was formerly well-known as Twitter. It has been reported by The Hollywood Reporter that the two have agreed to a contract for a new weekly series called WWE Speed that would last for two years. Not only will the show be exclusive to X, but it will also feature timed battles that are less than five minutes.
Numerous well-known wrestlers from around the WWE franchise are scheduled to take part in the WWE Speed event. Beginning in the spring of this year, it is intended that the show will be filmed in front of a studio audience, and that fresh episodes would be shown on a weekly basis. The most recent sporting event to air on X will be WWE Speed. During the most recent FIFA World Cup, the platform broadcast programming that was unique to Fox in cooperation with the latter. During the Olympic Games in Paris, it will collaborate with NBC Universal to webcast various aspects of the competition.
When it comes to the world of WWE, X is not the only firm that is participating in the celebration. Following the recent acquisition of WWE’s flagship show, Monday Night Raw, by Netflix for a rumored sum of $5 billion over a period of ten years, this news comes as little surprise. In addition to airing the WWE shows NXT and SmackDown in nations outside of the United States, the arrangement also includes weekly shows in a number of other countries, including the United States of America, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Beginning the following year, audiences from around the world will also have access to documentaries, recent television episodes, and other original series.
There will most certainly be a delay in the availability of more WWE shows for Netflix subscribers in the United States. The CW is apparently paying between $100,000 and $250,000 for the same time period to air NXT, while NBC Universal is reportedly paying $1.4 billion over the next five years to broadcast Smackdown on USA Network. All of these payments are for the same time period.
