You will receive somewhat more hotspot data, but rates will increase by one dollar.
According to a report by CNET, AT&T will increase the costs of its Unlimited plan by a small amount on March 5, 2024; however, customers will receive an increase in the amount of data they may use at hotspots. At the same time that the prices of all plans are going up by 99 cents per line per month, AT&T’s former Unlimited Elite plan customers will not experience any changes in their rates.
While the new plans are now available on AT&T’s website, the Unlimited Starter SL plan, which has replaced the previous Unlimited Starter plan, is now priced at $65.99. Additionally, it now provides 5GB of hotspot data, which is an increase from the previous 3GB. Instead of 15GB of hotspot data, the Unlimited Extra plan has been rebranded as the Unlimited Extra EL plan, and it now costs $75.99 per month despite having 30GB of data. Lastly, the new Unlimited Premium PL option has replaced the previous Unlimited Premium plan and increased the amount of data that can be used for hotspots by 10GB, bringing the total to 60GB (all costs are for a single user).
Additionally, the business is increasing the price of its Value Plus VL plan, which was formerly known as Value Plus, by 99 cents, bringing it up to $50.99. Despite the fact that you are not able to use hotspot data, you are now permitted to use up to ten lines rather of just one.
CNET was informed by a spokesperson that “We are bringing new benefits and added value to our best Unlimited plans,” as stated in the statement. It is anticipated that customers who are now enrolled in our Unlimited Starter, Extra, Premium, and Value Plus plans will begin to get the extra perks beginning in the month of March, in addition to the increased pricing. Customers who are already enrolled in the service will be informed of these modifications in the coming days, and they will have several weeks before the effective date to make any necessary adjustments to their plan or any other modifications they are interested in making.
AT&T’s Unlimited plans are comparable to those offered by T-Mobile’s Go5G plans and the MyPlan alternatives offered by Verizon. As you add lines, all of these plans become significantly more affordable, and they come with advantages such as subscriptions to Netflix, Disney, and other shows. Just ahead of the Marshall Islands and Tuvalu, the United States of America rated 219th in the world in terms of the affordability of mobile data as of the previous year. This places it 19th worst in the world.
