Hello Bobs.
There will be a fifth season of For All Mankind, which is a space-based alternative history show that will be available on Apple TV+. Given the nearly universal praise that has been poured upon the fourth season, this is not news that should come as a surprise. In addition, the firm made a surprising announcement regarding a spinoff series that will be called Star City and will be based on the Russian space program.
Despite the fact that there is no cast as of yet, the original series creators Ronald D. Moore, Matt Wolpert, and Ben Nedivi are all on board for Star City. In the story summary, it is described as a “propulsive, paranoid thriller” and referred to as a “robust expansion” of the universe. Furthermore, it appears to be bringing viewers back to the events that occurred during the first season of For All Mankind, which chronicled the Russian lunar landing that was the beginning of the plot.
“This time, we explore the story from behind the Iron Curtain, showing the lives of the cosmonauts, the engineers, and the intelligence officers embedded among them in the Soviet space program, and the risks they all took to propel humanity forward,” Apple wrote in a news statement. “This time, we showcase the lives of those who gave their lives to propel humanity forward.”
The production company did not disclose whether or whether the show would utilize frequent time leaps, as its predecessor did. In light of this, Apple has not disclosed any details regarding the cast of the fifth season of For All Mankind. There is a strong possibility that series regulars such as Joel Kinnaman and Krys Marshall will be leaving the show in the near future. This is because the show has a tendency to skip back in time quite a bit. After all, by the fourth season, their characters were getting up there in age and testing the boundaries of what was considered credible.
Despite the fact that this is some genuinely wonderful news for fans of science fiction, the fact that Star Trek: Lower Decks was canceled is still a very real and painful disappointment. As Apple appears to be interested in science fiction, Paramount should probably just sell Star Trek to Apple already. Apple appears to be interested in the franchise.
