Adobe Firefly, an AI creation model introduced last year, powers it.
In light of the announcement of Generative Remove for Lightroom, Adobe is introducing yet another tool powered by artificial intelligence to its arsenal. Generative Remove is a program that, as its name suggests, not only allows you to remove undesired elements from a photograph, but it also generates “pixel perfect generations” that give the impression that the object in question was never there. An unattractive garbage can in a gorgeous photograph or a lamp post that obscures a skyline that is otherwise clear are both examples of the kinds of things that could fall into this category. To a large extent, it is Adobe’s version of the Magic Eraser that Google offers.
Firefly, a generative artificial intelligence creation paradigm that was introduced in March 2023, is utilized by the new tool. Firefly is able to increase image quality, make photos by utilizing a description, and apply Generative Fill and Expand to add, subtract, or broaden the image. It trains on licensed content, such as that which is available from Adobe Stock. The Adobe programs Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign all contain it in their respective versions.
Generative Remove is now available as an early access feature for Lightroom, which Adobe promises will make it accessible to millions of consumers. Lightroom is currently available for download. Lens Blur, which provides “aesthetic blur effects to parts of a photograph,” has also been expanded by Adobe to be generally available, and it also includes new automatic presets.
