Arriving on August 16, less than a month from now, is Madden NFL 25.
We finally know when College Football 25, the comeback of the long-dormant football simulation game developed by EA Sports, will be released for consoles. This has been a long time coming, but it has finally come. On July 19, the game will be available for purchase on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, fulfilling the promise made by Electronic Arts that it would be released at some point during the summer.
The following players are featured on the cover: Donovan Edwards, a running back for Michigan; Quinn Ewers, a quarterback for Texas; and Travis Hunter, a wide receiver and defensive back for Colorado. The College Football 25 tournament will feature 134 institutions who are members of the Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). It will also feature thousands of athletes that are currently competing.
The following weeks will see the disclosure of additional information regarding the game. College Football 25, on the other hand, will contain EA’s money-saving Ultimate Team option, just like its sister Madden, which focuses on the National Football League. Players have the opportunity to acquire or purchase packs of random players to add to their own personal rosters in Ultimate Team, a game that has been a fundamental component of EA Sports FC (previously FIFA) and NHL games for a considerable amount of time.
The College Football 25 pre-orders are now available for purchase. An MVP bundle of College Football 25 and Madden NFL 25 is currently available for purchase from Electronic Arts. This bundle contains the deluxe edition of both games as well as three days of early access to each game.
On Thursday, the release date for Madden NFL 25 was also disclosed, albeit through pre-order product listings. This was because the game was released on Thursday. It is scheduled to be released on August 16, less than a month after College Football 25, for personal computers, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The College Football series had been dormant for more than a decade due to legal difficulties with the use of student athletes’ likenesses, which according to the allegations were done without their knowledge. In 2021, Electronic Arts made the announcement that they would be reviving the franchise, and they mentioned that College Football will not feature any actual athletes. One thing that has changed since then is that the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has finally made it possible for student athletes to earn money from their name, image, and likeness (NIL).
It was up to the players to decide whether or not they wanted to participate in College Football 25, and as of March, it was estimated that more than 10,000 players have accepted to be featured. According to CBS Sports, the majority of them were given a NIL check value of $600. It was reported that higher-profile names, who most likely included the sportsmen featured on the cover, had secured better-paying positions.
