It sounds like this before.
This past weekend, it was reported that individuals who had pre-ordered the personal computer version of Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut in nations that do not have access to PlayStation Network (PSN) were informed that their orders had been canceled and that they would be getting their money back automatically. It has been reported by Eurogamer that Steam, Green Man Gaming, and the Epic Games Store have all begun canceling these orders. As stated in a previous statement, the developer Sucker Punch stated that a PlayStation Network account would be required for the game’s multiplayer mode, but that the single-player campaign would be playable without the need for one. On the other hand, here we are, and it’s only a few days since the chaos that occurred with Helldivers 2 the previous week.
According to Eurogamer, individuals who resided in the affected regions received an email informing them that their orders will be reimbursed. The email stated, “The publisher of this game is now requiring a secondary account to play portions of this game — and this account cannot be created from your country.” Before this, Ghost of Tsushima was removed from Steam in over 170 countries where it was not available on the PlayStation Network, according to PCGamer and other magazines and websites. There has been no public statement made by Sony on the entire scandal as of yet. On Thursday, the Director’s Cut of Ghost of Tsushima is scheduled to be made available for personal computers.
