Hades II is a huge monster, so The Rogue Prince of Persia is running late – technology

Early access for the roguelike made by the people who made Dead Cells will still start this month.

The same firm that was responsible for Dead Cells was going to release an early access version of Prince of Persia for personal computers on May 14th. Today, it is not the case at all. Evil Empire has informed us that the release of The Rogue Prince of Persia will be postponed until later this month. The reason for this delay is due to a small game known as Hades II.

The early access version of Hades II was made available by Supergiant Games on Monday, shortly after the conclusion of a technical test. It experienced a meteoric rise on the Steam charts and swiftly achieved a peak of 102,000 gamers playing at the same time. It was suggested by Evil Empire that “everyone and their mom” is playing Hades II, which includes the company’s own crew, therefore the company is attempting to get out of the way of that game. There will be an announcement made on Monday regarding the revised early access date for The Rogue Prince of Persia.

It is not every day that a game in the same genre as you, which is one of the most anticipated forthcoming games of 2024, will go into early access a week before you plan to do the same,” Evil Empire said on X. “While we have full confidence in The Rogue Prince of Persia, it is not every day that a game in the same genre as you will release into early access.” “We are not so proud that we would choose to ignore the implications of that, and we are firmly of the belief that this brief delay is the most advantageous choice for both us and our early access journey.”

As it turns out, the delay will also provide Evil Empire with some additional time to clean up The Rogue Prince of Persia with additional polishing. Despite the fact that the purpose of releasing a game under early access is to get feedback from players on a project that is not even close to being finished, developers still want their games to be in the best possible condition when they are made available to the general public for the very first time.

It has been said by Evil Empire that they are able to “add even more cool things” and attempt to squash some issues prior to the launch of the game. The team also gets a little bit more time to test and improve the “hefty” patch that was released on day one.

The fact that both Hades II and the other game are roguelikes makes it a good idea to get out of the path of Hades II. Additionally, it is encouraging to see Evil Empire being open and honest about the factors that led to the delay. On the other hand, there are a number of other independent films that were released this week that received positive reviews but have been eclipsed by that enormously successful sequel, at least to some degree.

Other titles that were released this week received positive reviews, including Another Crab’s Treasure, which is a humorous take on From Software’s Soulslike genre, Crow Country, a survival horror game in the style of the PlayStation 1, the science fiction title 1000xResist, and the adorable-looking adventure game Little Kitty, Big City. That is also the case with Animal Well, a Metroidvania game that has been referred to as a “masterpiece” by a few critics (despite the fact that it is now the best-selling game on Steam, barely above Hades II, at the time of this writing).

The train does not stop there since a number of other highly anticipated independent bands are scheduled to arrive over the following couple of weeks. These bands include Paper Trail and Lorelei and The Laser Eyes, both of which are particularly exciting to us. Although I am unable to discuss it at this time, there is another one that will be released the following week that I have been playing and it is really worth checking out.

Although there may not be a great deal of AAA games being released at the moment from companies such as Sony, Microsoft, and Electronic Arts, there is a great deal of exciting content that is being released in the independent gaming market. Therefore, if you haven’t already, you should probably go check out some of those games.
