Let us put 150 on the over/under for “AI” quotes.

We are ready to learn about some of Google’s major ideas for the coming year at its I/O developer conference, which is almost time again. We are about to find out about some of Google’s big ideas. about May 14, the opening keynote will almost probably provide us with additional information about Android 15, in addition to a whole bunch of changes to artificial intelligence. This will be the source of the majority of the significant news.

There is little doubt that there will be some surprises, but it is quite likely that we will have to wait until the fall to obtain the complete information regarding the most recent flagship hardware offerings from the company.

The rumor mill has been churning away with a number of reports that emphasize what Google is expected to discuss at I/O. This is something that has been going on for quite some time. This is what you may anticipate from the keynote address that will be given at Google I/O 2024:

    Android 15

Initially and foremost, I/O is a conference for software developers. It is at this point that Google always provides third-party developers with the whole information regarding the next major version of Android. This allows them to begin developing applications for the new version or to adapt their existing products.

The first beta versions of Android 15 have already been released to the public. An enhanced Privacy Sandbox, partial screen sharing (which allows you to record or share a specific app window rather than the entire screen), and system-level program archiving to free up space are some of the improvements that are included. The satellite connectivity has also been upgraded, extra camera controls have been included within the app, and a new power efficiency mode has been added.

On the other hand, Google is holding up the most of the Android 15 announcements until the I/O event. It has been confirmed by the company that satellite messaging will be available for Android, and we may be able to learn more about how this capability operates. It is possible that lock screen widgets will be the focus of attention for tablets, whilst Google may lay the emphasis on an At a Glance widget for mobile devices. There is a possibility that a revamp of the status bar is on the horizon, and it might finally become simpler for you to monitor the health of the battery.

There is a possibility that wake words will be implemented for third-party assistants like Alexa and possibly ChatGPT in the near future. There is also speculation that there might be a feature known as Private Space that would enable you to conceal your data and applications from inquisitive eyes.

    AI, and lots of it

There is a good chance that you will be able to save enough money for a vacation if you put one dollar into a jar each time someone brings about artificial intelligence throughout the keynote. There is a reasonable expectation that Google will announce Gemini AI, which has the potential to completely supplant Assistant. In the event that this is the case, we might be able to acquire some information regarding the change at I/O.

During the month of December, it was rumored that Google was working on an artificial intelligence assistant that would be called Pixie and would be available exclusively for Pixel devices. built on the fact that Pixie is rumored to be built on Gemini and may make its debut in the Pixel 9 later this year, it would be reasonable for the company to begin discussing this topic at the I/O event.

Getting information regarding upgrades to generative artificial intelligence for important Google products like Search, Chrome, Maps, and G Suite would not come as a surprise. The development of accessibility features and health projects that are powered by AI may also be on the horizon. During this time, Google has once again postponed its plan to eliminate third-party cookies in Chrome. As a result, the company may view artificial intelligence as a potential solution to the problem of ad targeting and reveal any plans it has for this during the conference.

In spite of the fact that the products and services in question might not necessarily receive airtime during the keynote, the complete itinerary for the I/O event provides some insight into what else Google will discuss.

There will be a panel discussion on the future of Wear OS that Google has planned. The event will contain information on “advances in the Watch Face Format,” so you can anticipate hearing some news regarding the company’s smartwatch operating system. Furthermore, there will be upgrades available for both Google TV and Android TV.

The team working on quantum computing at Google will, in the meanwhile, discuss what is achievable in the field and make an effort to differentiate between fact and fiction. In addition, an Android Auto panel is planned to be released, which may indicate future advances in the areas of multi-display and casting experiences.
