All exported and stored media will have a glittering ghost watermark.
As the capabilities of tools continue to advance, it is becoming increasingly difficult to identify activities that are the result of artificial intelligence. One solution that Snapchat is expanding on is the option to mark photographs that were made by artificial intelligence. A watermark will be added to any content that is generated by artificial intelligence and saved to your camera roll or exported from the platform now.
Snapchat’s artificial intelligence watermark will be a ghost with sparkles next to it, which will come as a complete and utter surprise to no one. As is customary with watermarks, there does not appear to be any ability to alter where the icon displays; however, we will have more information when Snapchat adds the functionality “soon.”
The measures that Snapchat took to label content within the app have been followed by the installation of an artificial intelligence tag for photographs that are visible to the outside world. One of the tools is called the expand tool, and it is a glitter indicator that indicates that it is an artificial intelligence feature. It gives the impression that the image is zoomed out. Then there is the Dreams feature, which converts selfies into “fantastical images that transform their persona into new identities.” This feature makes use of generative artificial intelligence. Additionally, a context card that explains the application of the AI is sent to everybody who receives a Dream image.
