The billionaire said the person is “recovering well.”
Elon Musk has stated that the first human patient to receive a Neuralink brain implant has been successfully implanted. Musk stated that the man “is recovering well” one day after the surgery, indicating that the procedure was likely successful.
After receiving approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Neuralink, a company that is working toward the development of brain-computer interfaces (BCI), started enrolling human patients for its initial clinical study in the fall of last year. At the time, Neuralink stated that those “who have quadriplegia due to cervical spinal cord injury or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS)” may be eligible to participate in the trial. In a statement, the business stated that the primary objective of their brain-computer interface (BCI) is to provide anyone with the capability to control a computer cursor or keyboard solely via the use of their minds.
