The impacted clients have received email notifications.
According to BleepingComputer, customers of Ryan Reynolds-backed prepaid mobile carrier Mint Mobile were notified via email this past weekend that their personal data, including names, phone numbers, email addresses, plan descriptions, and SIM and IMEI numbers—which could be used in SIM swap attacks—may have been compromised in a security breach.
The company said it has since resolved the breach and customers do not need to take any action. BleepingComputer reports that hackers did not gain access to customers’ credit card information, which Mint claims is not stored, nor were passwords compromised. In response to a Reddit user who posted a screenshot of the email and questioned whether it was a scam, the Mint account responded to confirm its validity and said a customer support number has been set up to handle questions about the breach.
