The best virtual private network (VPN) recommendation for 2024 comes from Engadget.

Now is not a terrible moment to give our recommendation for the best virtual private network (VPN) service for 2024 a try. The price of a ProtonVPN subscription for 24 months is reduced by 70 percent ($71.76 upfront), and the price of a 12-month plan is reduced by 50 percent ($59.88 up front). That comes out to an average of $3 per month if you go with the two-year option, and $5 per month if you go with the single-year option.

The VPN service that Engadget recommends the most in 2024 is ProtonVPN. Although the majority of services were successful in passing our tests with good ratings, the service provided by Proton stood out due to its no-logs policy that was independently audited, its demonstrated history of resisting demands from law enforcement, its open-source code, and its peer-review mechanism that brings to light potential vulnerabilities. Additionally, we like how user-friendly its UI was.

While the firm does have a free plan with some restrictions, the ProtonVPN Plus plan grants you access to more than 6,500 servers located in more than 110 countries. Additionally, it provides support for BitTorrent, a built-in ad blocker, and the option to route your connection through various servers. Additionally, it includes the company’s high-speed servers, which operate at 10 gigabits per second.

Further Proton services are also available for purchase. Proton Mail, the company’s fully encrypted email service that brought it to the forefront of the industry, is included in this. Either 12 months at a discount of sixty percent ($23.88) or 24 months at a discount of thirty percent ($83.76) are provided to you. Recently, ProtonMail has included an artificial intelligence-driven writing capability into its mail service. Even if you are not a fan of robots putting words into your mouth, the service nevertheless provides you with up to ten email addresses (including support for custom domains), intelligent filters and labels, the ability to unsubscribe with a single click, and dedicated mobile and desktop applications.
