The version of the game that has sold the most copies of all time will no longer receive support from Mojang.
In the near future, PlayStation VR users who enjoy escaping to the creeper-infested and block-filled world of Minecraft in virtual reality will no longer be able to do so. Mojang, the content developer, is gradually reducing its support for that platform.
The most recent Minecraft patch notes, which were discovered by Eurogamer, contain the following statement from Mojang: “Our ability to support PlayStation VR has come to an end, and it will no longer be in updates after March of 2025.” Due to the fact that the PlayStation VR will no longer be supported in the most recent upgrades, you will no longer be able to use it with Minecraft.
Mojang provided compatibility for the PlayStation VR (PSVR) in the year 2020 as part of an update to the PlayStation 4 version of Minecraft. However, there has not yet been an update that is similar for the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation VR2. The developer has stated that it would continue to support Minecraft on PlayStation 4. According to the statement made by the studio that is owned by Microsoft, “From this point forward, you will be able to continue building in your worlds, and your Marketplace purchases (including Tokens) will become available.” Nevertheless, if you are truly interested in continuing to play Minecraft on PSVR, you may use the headset to display games from PS4 on a virtual screen that is two-dimensional.
It’s not all that unusual for games that are continually updated to wind down support on older platforms that users have drifted away from. Studio owners often cannot continue to update titles for the benefit of a diminishing audience because it is not sustainable for them to do so. Nevertheless, the conclusion of Minecraft for PlayStation VR is still noteworthy, not the least of which is the fact that it is the game that has sold the most copies of all time. However, in April, a movie that is based on the Minecraft video game will be released, which means that you will soon have a completely new opportunity to experience the Minecraft universe.
