It costs $15 a month, but there are no day-one releases included in the subscription.

This day marks the beginning of availability for the Xbox Game Pass Standard package. In July, Microsoft made an announcement on the redesign of its Game Pass membership plans. The company included the introduction of the Standard option in addition to an increase in the price of the Ultimate tier. The Ultimate plan will set you back $20 per month, while the Standard plan will set you back $15 per month.

The Standard subscription tier will provide access to the most important aspects of the Game Pass program, which include participating in online multiplayer gaming, having access to a vast library of games, and receiving discounts on certain game purchases. The most significant distinction between the Standard plan and the Ultimate plan is that members of the Standard plan will not be able to play certain blockbuster releases on the first day of release. These games include Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Depending on the title, the wait period for Standard can be anywhere from one to twelve months, but it can be even longer. Additionally, access to Xbox Cloud Gaming and membership to EA Play are included in the Ultimate Membership Plan.

In the current generation of gaming consoles, Xbox has been having a difficult time competing with PlayStation. This is due, in part, to disparities in hardware: Microsoft introduced an unimpressive update to its console lineup this summer, whereas Sony was able to generate a great deal of excitement for the launch of its pricey new PlayStation 5 Pro. However, the Game Pass plan has also been having trouble generating ongoing revenue for Microsoft, as the company revealed that there were only 34 million subscribers throughout the month of February.
