Models that have been released within the past few years are affected by the software issue.

There is a software fault in the anti-lock brake system of the Ram 1500 pickup trucks that have been recalled by Stellantis, the parent company of Chrysler. The recall applies to pickup trucks manufactured between 2019 and 2021-2024. According to a notification issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the defect has the potential to cause the anti-lock braking system to “disable the electronic stability control system,” which in turn can enhance the likelihood of a collision occurring.

According to Reuters, the recall affects approximately 1.46 million automobiles all across the world, with the vast majority of those vehicles being located in the United States. According to Reuters, there have been no reported incidents of injuries or collisions that are associated with the issue as of yet. When the truck is started, the owners should notice that the lights for the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Adaptive Cruise Control, and Forward Collision Warning come on. According to Reuters, the software problem does not have an effect on the foundational deceleration.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), letters will be delivered to owners at the beginning of October, and they will be required to bring their vehicles into a dealership in order for the software of the ABS control module to be updated. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the vehicles do not meet the requirements of the federal motor vehicle safety standard for electronic stability control systems as of right now. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recall search tool allows you to enter your information in order to determine whether or not the recall pertains to your truck.
