A function that is available for free on all other major platforms will be subject to a fee from the company.

The ability to live stream will soon be moved behind X’s premium paywall, according to the announcement made by the respective company. X will become the only major social site to charge for the feature, which is now free on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitch, and TikTok. This shift will make X competitive with other big social platforms.

According to the statement made by the firm, exclusively Premium customers will be able to livestream (make live video streams) on X beginning very soon. It is possible that this is a reference to the ability of X to stream video games. “This includes going live from an encoder with X integration.”

In response to the change, X did not provide any explanation. Although the company has made use of additional capabilities such as post editing, longform writing, and ad-free feeds in order to entice people to subscribe to its paid services, it has not traditionally placed features that are already publicly available behind its paywall. Subscriptions to X Premium begin at $3 per month for the “basic” tier, and gradually increase to $8 per month for Premium and $16 per month for Premium+ memberships.

On the other hand, there are more indications that the platform, which is owned by Elon Musk, intends to charge for additional basic capabilities. In order to provide new users with posting capabilities in New Zealand and the Philippines, the corporation implemented a one dollar annual fee and implemented it. However, despite the fact that the firm continues to refer to the plan as a test, Musk has indicated that he intends to extend the costs to all new users.
