According to a recent report, the annualized revenue of the company that manufactures ChatGPT is $3.4 billion.

We are unsure as to whether or not OpenAI, the company that developed ChatGPT, is truly making any money at this point. What we do know, however, is that the corporation has quadrupled its annualized revenue in the past six months, as stated by a report that was published on Wednesday in The Information. Annualized revenue is a measurement that is calculated by multiplying the revenue from the preceding month by twelve, as the newspaper described in a helpful manner.

Sam Altman, the CEO of OpenAI, reportedly informed the team that the company’s annualized revenue was $3.4 billion. A year ago, this figure was $1 billion, but it has since increased to $1.6 billion near the close of the previous year. The majority of this money came from a subscription version of ChatGPT, which provides larger message limitations to users who pay at least $20 per month. Additionally, the majority of this revenue came from developers who paid the firm to permit them to utilize the company’s massive language models in their own applications and related services. Microsoft contributes approximately $200 million on an annually basis, which allows OpenAI to get a portion of the revenue generated from the sale of big language models developed by OpenAI to customers who use Azure, which is Microsoft’s cloud computing platform designed for commercial enterprises.

Particularly noteworthy is the fact that a spokeswoman for OpenAI stated to The Information that the financials were “inaccurate,” although they did not elaborate on which specifics they disputed. newtechmania received a request for comment from OpenAI, but the company did not immediately answer.

Apple made the announcement earlier this week that it would be forming a relationship with OpenAI. With the intention of integrating ChatGPT directly into its operating systems for iPhones, iPads, and Macs, the company intends to enable Siri to communicate with ChatGPT in order to provide answers to questions. However, the specifics of the financial arrangements of that transaction are not yet revealed.
